TRANSPORTATION AND ACCOMMODATION
Airport: Orlando is a transportation hub to reach many destinations around the world. Orlando International Airport serves an estimated 36 million passengers per year. With the ongoing expansion project, its capacity will be increased to 45 million passengers a year.
Train Service: Amtrak serves more than 28 Florida communities with north and southbound daily trains originating from New York and Miami. These Silver Service trains stop in downtown Orlando, Winter Park and Kissimmee. Amtrak also offers the Auto Train, which transports passengers and their vehicles daily between Lorton, Va., and Sanford.
Fast Train: Miami – Orlando fast train railway construction is expected to be completed by mid-2017. When completed, the travel time between Miami and Orlando will be only 3 hours. Therefore, the theme parks in Orlando will also be easily accessible to the passengers of cruise ships that stop in Miami.
With more than 500 hotels and 120,000 guestrooms, Orlando offers more lodging options than nearly any destination in the world. It has a wide range of accommodation options such as luxury resorts, themed hotels, boutique hotels, golf resorts, charming bed & breakfasts, and more affordable choices. Nevertheless, the lodging industry is still having a hard time satisfying the demand for accommodation due to high number of visitors.
